No country benefited from use of military force - Lavrov

The use of military force has not led to anything good in any country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday at the opening ceremony of the Youth Summit of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa). Russia’s top diplomat expressed the hope that "the agenda of the Youth summit would include international issues." "Foreign policy now attracts special attention," Lavrov noted. "Too many crises and conflicts in the world." "In recent years, there has been a series of campaign to protect human rights," Lavrov said. "There was interference in internal affairs under this slogan, including with the use of military force. In none of the cases of such interference did the situation change for the better. On the contrary, in most countries where such interference took place, the situation became catastrophic, the countries are on the verge of collapse." "Now much attention is paid to the role of youth in shaping the national agenda, including through the prism of the so-called peace protests, which are increasingly becoming the accepted standard of behavior, at least, from the point of view of some of our Western colleagues," the minister said.
