Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of the last day of wargames in this southern provincial port city, Chairman of Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Ala’aeddin Boroujerdi said the military drill has properly ˈdemonstrated Iran’s authority and power to gaurantee stability inthe region.ˈ The six-day maneuver began on December 25 in a 2.2 million-square-kilometer area stretching from east of Hormuz Strait in southern Iran to southern parts of the Gulf of Aden. It is being participated by units from ground forces as well as Air Force fighters and Navy vessels. It is aimed at improving rapid reaction of the Iranian armed forces.
