No Logic Behind Formation Of US-led Anti-Daesh Coalition: Speaker

Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi, Sept 13, IRNA – There is no logic behind formation of US-led anti-Daesh coalition, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said on Saturday. Speaking in a local ceremony in this northeastern province, he noted that the plan by the US to fight the Daesh terrorist group through air assaults won't eradicate the extremists. The US decision to extend military operations against Daesh in Iraq and to open a new front against the group in Syria threatens to fuel the fire of extremism and can intensify sectarian violence in the region, Larijani added. US President Barak Obama announced last Thursday that Washington was dispatching more troops to Iraq to assist the government and the Kurds to counter advancement of Daesh militants, saying that US warplanes would be conducting missions inside Syria where Daesh controls growing territory./end
