North Korean foreign minister highly values results of meeting with Lavrov - Russian embassy in Pyongyang

MOSCOW, April 17. /TASS/. North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho highly values the results of negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that were held in Moscow last week, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the DPRK said on Tuesday on its official Facebook page. According to the embassy, Russian Ambassador to Pyongyang Alexander Matsegora met Ri Yong-ho who had just returned from a foreign trip at the Pyongyang Sunan International Airport. "[The sides] briefly exchanged their opinions on the results of his trip to our country. Ri Yong-ho highly valued the outcome of negotiation with Russian Foreign Minister [Sergey] Lavrov," the embassy reported. The diplomatic mission noted that a joint action plan to implement the agreements reached at the foreign ministers’ meeting would soon be studied at a working level. On April 9-12, Ri Yong-ho stayed in Russia on a working visit. He held meetings with Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Deputy Prime Minister - Russian Plenipotentiary Presidential Representative in the Far East Yury Trutnev. The negotiations with Lavrov focused on the settlement of the nuclear problem on the Korean Peninsula. The ministers had a chance to share their positions ahead of high-level contacts between North and South Korea planned for the next months, as well as between North Korea and the US.
