Norwegian FM: Peaceful settlement of Iran nuclear issue to improve Iran-Norway ties

Tehran, Nov 2, IRNA -- Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende said in Tehran on Saturday that peaceful settlement of Iran's nuclear issue at due time will serve to expand Tehran-Oslo relations. Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Head of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Ali-Akbar Velayati in Tehran on Saturday, Brende referring to November 24 deadline for peaceful settlement of Iran nuclear case and reaching a final accord, such an agreement will certain help expand Iran-Norway relations. He said, "My visit to Tehran is of high significance because it's the first visit by a Norwegian foreign minister to Iran in 12 years." He added that expansion of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran is on agenda of the Norwegian government and "We have focused on the point that how we can settle the crises we are witnessing in the region, especially in Syria and Iraq." The Norwegian top diplomat said in his meeting with Velayati the two sides discussed important issues regarding campaign against terrorism, especially Daesh. He said that he and Velayati also discussed ways of settling continued crises in Syria and Iraq as soon as possible through mutual cooperation./end
