Norwegian FM underlines expansion of Tehran-Oslo ties

London, Dec 14, IRNA – Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende on Wednesday called for expansion of ties and dialogue between Tehran and Oslo. He made the remarks in meeting with Iran's new Ambassador to Oslo Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh. Brende said that Norway government has allocated a credit line of one billion dollars for development of economic relations with Iran. Habibollahzadeh called for dialogue and enhanced economic cooperation between Iran and Norway. He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to develop ties with Norway in different fields of oil, gas, fishery, forestry, ports, maritime and environment. Given the meetings between foreign ministers of the two countries as well as meeting between President Rouhani and Norwegian prime minister on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly last September, Brende underlined regular consultations between senior officials of the two states. Regarding Norway government decision to allocate one billion dollars credit line for development of economic relations with Iran, Brende expressed hope that Norwegian companies would participate actively in Iran's market. Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh presented his credentials to King of Norway on December 8, 2016. He served as Iran's charge d' affaires in London. 1378/IRNA
