Obamaˈs Anti-Daesh Package: ˈGoodˈ Terrorists Gone ˈBadˈ

Tehran, Sept 11, IRNA – On the eve of anniversary of the September 11 attacks, US President Barack Obama has submitted Congress a bill aimed at fighting against the terrorist group Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL) also known as Daesh. Sources close to the White House say major part of his plan centers on the expansion of air raids on ISIL rebels in Iraq and Syria. The prolonged wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have become quagmires both for US Middle East policy and its army. Hence, the US president has repeatedly said that he will not resort to ground operations against Daesh. The US administration's recent media hype follows four years of keeping mum on terrorist crimes, including Daesh, in Syria. In the wake of atrocities by the anti-government rebels in Syria, the package intends to slate money from Congress by substituting the so-called Free Army of Syria with Daesh as its sole recipient. US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Tuesday that combating Daesh will take months and years under a coalition of 40 countries. Also quoting the military brass in Pentagon, the New York Times daily wrote on Tuesday that fighting against Daesh will last for three years. Therefore, it is expected that the anti-ISIL package will serve as a prelude to Obama's speech marking 9/11 attacks on Thursday. It appears that the US is once again going to use military action to disguise its economic crisis and social ruptures in order to justify its militarist policies worldwide and snap more money from American taxpayers' pockets. In the meantime, Kremlin is concerned that the US would use anti-ISIL air attacks on Syria as an excuse to target President Bashar Assad's forces. The US is infamous for following double standard policies. Daesh was "good" terrorists as long as it fought against President Assad's government in Syria. Now, in Iraq, it has turned to "bad" terrorists in the eyes of American statesmen./end
