Official: Fixing Date, Venue of Talks with G5+1, Still On

Moscow, Jan 19, IRNA – Deputy for the foreign policy and international affairs of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Baqeri said that talks were still on to fix date and location of the new round of negotiations with 5+1 on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program. Baqeri, who is here for talks with ranking Russian officials, told IRNA on Thursday that no decision has been reached on the issue yet. He said the agenda of the meeting will be determined according to the agreements reached by the two sides. As for the purposes of his two-day trip to Russia, he pointed to the particular position of Russia and Iran in the world equations as two significant and powerful countries, noting that Tehran and Moscow have always had constant exchanges of views on both regional and international issues. Given the common views the two countries shared on the trend of international and regional developments and the profit-seeking attitudes of the alien forces behind them, Baqeri added, the two countries have expanded their interactions./end
