Official : IAEA Experts Visit To Arak Heavy Water Plant Not for Inspection

Tehran, Nov 30, IRNA – Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said on Friday that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts have travelled Iran on their own request to visit Arak heavy water plant and the visit is not aimed to inspect the facilities. Kamalvandi told IRNA on Friday that after visit of the IAEA Chief Yukiya Amano to Tehran and his meeting the AEOI chief Ali-Akbar Salehi, there was discussion on managed access and visit and we gave positive response to their request. He added that the IAEA officials’ initial request was to visit Arak heavy water plant and not the reactor because as years before, tight inspections to the reactor are usually every three months./end
