Official: Iran Takes Leadership In Fighting Against Terrorism In Asia

Tehran, May 24, IRNA – Political assistant of the Presidential Office wrote in his tweet that Iran will take leadership of fighting against terrorism, radicalism and violence in Asia after CICA Meeting. According to the report of Government website on Friday, Hamid Abu Talebi, Iranˈs new ambassador to the UN whose visa has not yet been issued by the US government, wrote in his tweet that the fight would be theoretical, diplomatic, instructive, and inspiring. Abu Talebi, who accompanied President Rouhani in his trip to Shanghai, evaluated China meetings very successful. He said presidents of Iran, Russia and China emphasized in the CICA meeting on security threats in Asia and also on development of security bases and that the CICA can be the strongest source of security in Asia. The former Iranˈs ambassador to Australia and Italy wrote that the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), by registering President Rouhaniˈs resolution on fighting against violence and radicalism took a big step toward practical confrontation with terrorism. The resolution was proposed by President Hassan Rouhani at the United Nations General Assembly meeting last year and was approved by consensus. Abu Talebi, also referred to bilateral meeting between President Rouhani and Russian President Vladimir Putin and wrote that the meeting was very serious, long, sincerely and with high intention to achieve goals. He also described the meeting between presidents of Iran and China as a beginning for a new move toward intensive cooperation in near future./end
