Official: Iran to vigorously continue supporting Syria

Tehran, Nov 9, IRNA – Special Assistant for the Iranian Parliament Speaker for international affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said Iran will powerfully continue to support Syria. Official: Iran to vigorously continue supporting Syria He made the remark in a meeting with the Syrian Deputy-Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad and his accompanying delegation on Tuesday. He said Americans were after pressing Syria more during the time of their new president but they are not aware of the reality of developments. Stressing Iran’s wise policies towards the Syrian issue since the very beginning of the crisis there, he said Iran will go on with its policy of supporting Syria against terrorism and tackling problems through political solutions. He said development of parliamentarian diplomacy will greatly help promotion of cooperation and mutual understanding in regional and international arenas. He said the supporters of terrorist groups in the region have to revise their policies because the continuation of their policies will both harm the region and threaten universal peace and security. The Syrian official praised Iran’s good policies towards Syria and bilateral friendly relations will help promote economic ties as well. 1378/IRNA
