Official: Terrorists’ Aura By Eastern Borders Fortified In Aliens’ Presence

Tehran, Oct 27, IRNA – Presence of alien forces in the region and by Iran’s eastern borders has led to strengthening of the bandits and the terrorists both in the region and in the world, said an Iranian deputy interior minister Saturday night. Deputy Interior Minister in Security Affairs Ali Abdollahi added in an interview with Channel 2 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) TV condoled with the bereaved family members of the 17 martyred Iranian border guards and the Iranian nation in southeast Iran. “The organized terrorist moves in vicinity of Iran’s Eastern borders have been directed and engineered by the aliens’ intelligence agencies and the sworn enemies of Iran ever since 1995,” said Abdollahi. He pointed out, “Unfortunately, the armed bandits in Iran-Pakistan border region are equipped with the most advanced communication and military equipments.” The Iranian deputy interior minister added that the emerged problem has plagued not only this region, but also the entire world and the expenses of implementing such mentalities have been covered by the countries that support them. Abdollahi emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran defends the country’s security and integrity with its full might, adding, “The terrorists have fled to Pakistan after committing their recent crime at an eastern border region of Iran.” He added, “All the same, the Iranian security officers are pursuing the matter and they will eventually urge the creators of this crime to pay the real price for it.” The official noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has constructed armed cement walls and blocked the eastern borders in over 380 border regions, aimed at preventing the occurrence of all types of terrorist movements. The deputy interior minister in security affairs said that Iran expects Pakistan to assist it in solving this important problem. “Keeping in mind that the terrorists have fled to Pakistan, it is quite necessary that the Pakistani officials will cooperate with Iran where it is really necessary,” he said. In related news, the managing director of West Asia Office of Foreign Ministry presented Iran’s protest letter on Friday terrorist operation launched from Pakistan’s soil against Iranian border guards to Pakistan charge d’affires in Tehran Saturday. Seventeen Iranian border guards were martyred on Friday at zero point of Iran-Pakistan international border by agents of a terrorist group in Saravan region and a number of other border guards were wounded, and then the terrorists fled back to somewhere inside Pakistan, from where they had entered Iran. During the Saturday evening meeting the Pakistani government was seriously asked to act in accordance with the articles of the Security Cooperation Pact between the two countries and the Agreement of Sending Back of Culprits, and to deal resolutely with the leaders of the terrorists who have fled to Pakistan, so that they would be justly punished. Seventeen Iranian border guards got killed and a number of others seriously wounded in clashes with armed bandits on the south-eastern frontier with Pakistan on Friday. The clashes took place on Friday night in a mountainous region outside the Iran border township of Saravan in the southeast Sistan-Baluchistan province, when the bandits launched a surprise attack against the Iranian border post. A deputy governor of Saravan told the state television that six border guards, too, were captured by the attackers. The media reports gave no more details on the identity of the armed group but security forces have fought drug traffickers before in the border region with Pakistan and Afghanistan. The attackers, who saw that conditions were unsafe for their actions, retreated to the country on the other side of the border (Pakistan) after the clash, Rajab-Ali Sheikhzadeh, a provincial official, told ISNA./end
