OIC Condemns Car Bombing In Beirut

Beirut, July 10, IRNA – Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, in a statement strongly condemned car bombing on southern suburbs of Beirut, IRNA reported on Tuesday. The OIC is opposed to such acts of violence which endanger innocent people and have no outcome, but destruction and damage to governmental and private properties. The Muslim World is deeply concerned about the incident, he said, adding that OIC condemns any kind of violence and is opposing terrorism and extremism. He called on all political parties and movements in Lebanon to form a national reconciliation government at the earliest and sit on the negotiating table to solve current problems. According to preliminary statistics provided by Lebanese Red Cross, the terrorist attack which occurred early Tuesday wounded 37 people./end
