OIC Secretary-general Arrives In Tehran

Tehran, Feb 5, IRNA – Newly elected Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Madani arrived in Tehran on Tuesday evening. He was welcomed at the airport by Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. Madani is scheduled to meet with President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Education Minister Ali Asghar Fani during his stay here in Tehran. Foreign Ministry Media Department had already declared that Madani is to discuss bilateral cooperation, regional developments, especially Islamic world problems like Palestine and situation in Syria with Iranian senior officials. Islamic Republic of Iran, in direction of its principled stances toward the Islamic world issues, gives special importance to OIC and has had a special position in the organization in the years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution./end
