OIC secretary general due to Libya

JEDDAH (A.A) - November 21, 2011 - Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will visit Libya next week. Ihsanoglu will visit Libya for the first time after its former leader Muammar Gadhafi was overthrown and killed. Ihsanoglu will meet Mustafa Abdul Jalil, chairman of Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC), and express support of OIC to Libya. Gadhafi was killed in his hometown of Sirte on October 20, eight months after an uprising began to put an end to his 42-year dictatorship. Clashes in the country ended when Libyan National Transition Council declared independence on October 23.
