O.Och addresses special event for WED

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations (UN) Mr O.Och delivered a speech at a special event organized last week in New York within the World Environment Day under a theme "Think, Eat, Save". He talked about the government's policy and actions on environment, on contribution of Mongolia to the global environment, on measures taken in frames of the WED 2013 in Mongolia and on planned works of the cabinet. Then he showed a video greeting from S.Oyun, the Minister of Environment and Green Development. The event has attracted 90 delegates including Mr Munyaradzi Chenje, Senior Environmental Affairs Officer in the UNEP Division of Early Warning and Assessment (DEWA); and Mr Toshihiko Murata, a senior officer at the FAO Initiative of Additional Nutrition. Mr Munyaradzi Chenje made the opening remarks, mentioning about successful marking of this year's WED hosted by Mongolia, and thanked Mongolian President, government and people for organizing it. He showed videos of a meeting which ran between the Mongolian President Ts.Elbegdorj and the UNEP Executive Director Mr Achim Steiner, and of some measures in Mongolia. A message from the President was delivered as well.
