Option Is Not U.S. Monopoly: Minju Joson

Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- U.S. Secretary of Defense Carter, recently recalling a precedent in which it planned a surgical operation against nuclear facilities of the DPRK, reeled off provocative outbursts that north Korea should never be allowed to pose a nuclear threat to the U.S. and the U.S. forces present in south Korea are ready to go into action at once. Hayden, newly designated as commander of the U.S. Strategic Force, and Marlon, former chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, blustered that the most possible option for defusing threat of north Korea to the U.S. at the present stage is to make a strategic raid or missile strike at nuclear and missile bases of north Korea and that it is necessary to make a preemptive strike at north Korea. Minju Joson Wednesday observes in a commentary: This proves that the U.S. has chosen to ignite a war of aggression against the DPRK and stepped up its preparations despite the repeated warnings of the DPRK and protest and denunciation from the international community. Peace is dearer to the DPRK but it has no idea of begging the U.S. for peace, allowing the sovereignty and dignity of the country to be encroached upon. The DPRK will unhesitatingly take effective military countermeasures including preemptive strike, leaving no means untried, as it has the powerful treasured nuclear sword to deal merciless retaliatory sledge- hammer blows at the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces and a legitimate right to self-defence.
