Osh to develop bilateral co-op with EU Delegation to Kyrgyzstan

Osh, Oct. 20, 2021 . / Kabar / . First Deputy Mayor of Osh Mars Isayev held a meeting with Deputy Head of mission, Head of the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic Vingris Raimonds. In the course of the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation, including joint projects in energy sphere, support of civil society, business sector, development of tourism industry. Deputy Osh Mayor Isayev said that nowadays the issue of attracting investors is urgent, and the Mayor’s Office is ready to assist and create favorable conditions for the implementation of investment projects for the benefit of the citizens. Vingris Raimonds noted that a major economic forum is planned to be held in Bishkek in early November, which aims to strengthen relations in the economic sphere. "Cooperation and development support are our priorities in Kyrgyzstan. For the upcoming seven-year period of work, the topics of cooperation projects have been approved: education, transition to green economy, water issues, digitalization, rule of law and justice. As part of this work, the Center for Tolerance and Friendship will be opened tomorrow at Osh State University, which will have the task of strengthening tolerant and good neighborly relations between students, discussing programs within the framework of academic staff and much more," the EU representative stressed. The sides expressed their readiness to improve close mutually beneficial cooperation, including cultural and public exchange, in which film festivals, various concert events can be held.
