Pakistani Chief Justice for promoting Iran-Pakistan cooperation

Islamabad, Oct 26, IRNA – Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali calls for strengthening cooperation between Iran and Pakistan particularly in legal sector. In an exclusive interview with IRNA here after holding a meeting with seven-member Iranian delegation headed by Iran's Attorney General Muhammad Jafar Montazeri, he said that issues between Iran and Pakistan in judicial system should be resolved at the earliest. “I hope that this meeting will go a long way in strengthening the brotherly relations between the two countries particularly with reference to our judicial system, law department so that the issues relating to this field may be resolved at the earliest and we have all the best wishes for our Iranian brothers,” he viewed. Responding to a question regarding cooperation of Iran and Pakistan for better security the Chief Justice said: though this is an issue related to the executive but I feel that if there is a will, there is a way, so if misunderstandings created by some foreign countries between two countries are removed, then both can move forward in a positive direction. “I cannot forget that Iran was the first country in the world which had accepted the independence of Pakistan but still there are some countries in this region that are adamant to disintegrate the unity of Pakistan and Iran,” he said. He further added: once we realize that all Muslim nations need to make strong relationship and brotherhood, so all the issues of secondary nature in Muslim world can be settled amicably. 1378/IRNA
