'Palestine, the most important issue of Islamic world'

TEHRAN, Oct. 21 (MNA) – Chairman of Expediency Council said the Palestinian cause has faded in some Islamic countries, so that it seems as if Israel is no longer a dangerous traitor in the region. The Palestinian issue is the most important issue of the Islamic world which should not be neglected amid current political disputes and hubbubs, Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said in a meeting on Tuesday with the Palestinian Ambassador to Iran Salah Zawawi. He reiterated that the Palestinian people are the most oppressed nation in the world that live amid fear and insecurity in refugee camps. Reminding the influence of the Palestinian people's resistance on the Islamic world, and especially on the struggles of the Iranian nation in their Islamic Revolution, Rafsanjani said the Palestinians, either those inside their motherlands or those migrated abroad reluctantly, are always pursuing their liberation campaign. Pointing to his remarks in the meeting with the German foreign minister on West's impact upon Jews migration from Europe to Palestinian homeland, Hashemi Rafsanjani said the Westerners have secured themselves from Zionism fire by setting aflame the Islamic countries. Expressing regret over launching campaigns by some leaders of the Islamic countries against other countries' Muslims, such as Saudi bombardments of the oppressed Yemeni nation, Ayatollah Rafsanjani said that it is while the Palestinians who are merely armed with stones face the highly armed Zionists. The Palestinian Ambassador Salah Zawawi, for his part, referred to the old arrogance plots to sow discord among different sects of Muslims, and said although the Shia and Sunni Muslims have a shared Qibla, a shared Holy Book, and a shared prophet, the arogance propagates as if the Shias are non-Muslims. He also complained against the betrayers of Palestinian cause and said the treasons will definitely remain in history and the Palestinian people, in all generations, will never forgive those involved.
