Palestinian Refugees In Lebanon Gather At Iran Park At Broader Zero Point

Beirut, May 17, IRNA – Hundreds of Palestinians held a peaceful demonstration at “Iran Park” Wednesday in Maroon al-Ra’s village, closest point to occupied Palestine, protesting to usurper racist Zionist regime’s continuous Judaizing of Palestine. The group of Palestinians who were staging their protest to mark the 64th anniversary of occupation of Palestine, referred to by the Palestinians as the “Yaum un-Nikba” (Catastrophe Day), were warmly received by the Hezbollah officials. The Palestinian protesters by gathering at this point emphasized that their greatest wish in their lives is returning to the beloved motherland, Palestine, and paid respect to the souls of the Palestinians who were martyred last year at that very same spot by the brutal Zionist forces. It was also stressed at the gathering that liberation of Palestine can only be achieved through resistance and armed struggle. The Palestinians residing in camps in northern parts of Lebanon, too, staged similar protests in the streets of their camps, in which they emphasized on need for resistance till achieving victory, and meanwhile asked for concerned officials’ paying greater attention to the status of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. A similar protest gathering, too, was held by resistance groups, local officials and cultural and academic personalities, as well as a large number of refuges at Nahr al-Bared (The Cold Stream) Camp in north of Lebanon. At that event, a representative of Hamas Islamic Movement, Jamal Shahabi, sad, “The policy of Judaizing Palestine is still going on in the region, but the Palestinians’ rights would definitely be materialized only relying on resistance and armed struggle.” Another Palestinian official in his address asked the government to pay closer attention to the status of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, and to accelerate the reconstruction process of Nahr al-Bared Refugee Camp and the return of its residents to their homes. The Palestinian Youth Association, too, held an event on the occasion of Nikba Day, on Wednesday to voice solidarity with the entire Palestinian prisoners and arrested individuals, at south Lebanon refugee camps. Member of Central Palestinian Committee – Lebanon branch, Abdullah Adnan in an address at that event referring to the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the oppressed Palestinian nation, said, “Some regional Arab countries hand in hand with some foreign countries are accomplices in the plots hatched against the Palestinian nation and despite the passage of 64 years from the occupation of Palestine, the Palestinians are still subject to various types of crimes and attacks of the Zionist regime.” He emphasized that the major objective is the return of every single Palestinian to Palestine, adding, “That, and the establishment of the independent and free Palestinian government are the unchangeable ideals of every Palestinian citizen.”/end
