Palestinian resistance will never be disarmed: Quds Force chief

TEHRAN,Aug.2(MNA)– The Commander of Iran’s Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani, has issued a statement stating that the call for disarmament of the Palestinian resistance movement is a ‘false illusion which will be buried’, Al Mayadeen TV network reported on Wednesday. The statement by the Quds Force commander came as Israel and some of its Western allies have called for disarmament of Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups. In a telephone conversation with Zionist regime’s war minister Moshe Ya’alon on Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel insisted on the disarming of Hamas and other groups in Gaza. Soleimani said the entire world should know that disarming the Palestinian resistance movement is a ‘false illusion’ and a ‘bad dream’ that will not come true. He reiterated Tehran’s position that Iran will continue supporting the Palestinians and their resistance against the Israeli aggressions. “So far, we have fulfilled our religious duty in supporting the Palestinian resistance and will insist on that to turn the land, air and sea into a hell for the Zionist regime,” the top general stated. He added, “The murderers and mercenaries should know that not even one moment will we stop our defense and support of the resistance and our backing of the Palestinian people, and we will have no doubt in this.” The Quds Force commander also called for a unity of Muslims against the Zionist regime. Israel has waged an intensive attack on the Gaza Strip from the air, land, and sea. The death toll has exceeded 1,427, with women and children as the main victims. “Palestine is a beating heart whose blood runs through the veins of mankind to present a new humanity at any time,” Soleimani noted. The commander said Israel’s war on civilians in Gaza “shakes the conscience and wakes nations from their deep sleep.” He also said, “The painful scenes of Palestine breaks our heart and covers our chests with grief, a grief that in its essence has a deep wrath, a wrath that at the appropriate time will be poured on the heads of the criminal Zionists.”
