Pankratov discusses economic cooperation with Georgian Ambassador

Bishkek, July 10, 2018 / Kabar /. Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Oleg Pankratov met with Ambassador of Georgia Zurab Abashidze.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, during the meeting the sides discussed trade and economic relations and noted that the current level of trade does not reflect the full potential of bilateral cooperation.

In this regard, the sides discussed issues of intensifying cooperation by facilitating the establishment of business contacts and holding the next meeting of the joint intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Georgian commission on trade and economic cooperation in 2019. Moreover, Minister Pankratov expressed interest in sharing experience in the field of economic reform, tourism development, cooperation with the European Union, as well as airport reconstruction with the participation of foreign companies.

Abashidze told about the issues of Kyrgyz-Georgian cooperation, about preparations for the forthcoming visit of the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mukhammedkaliy Abylgaziev to Georgia and the prospects for cooperation through the state bodies of the two countries.

The ambassador informed about the changes in the Georgian government and the tourism potential of Georgia.

The sides also discussed the possibilities of transit of goods through the territory of Georgia, following to Kyrgyzstan.

Ambassador Abashidze thanked for the opportunity to meet and discuss topical issues of bilateral cooperation.
