Parliament Speaker holds bilateral meetings

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On July 15, Parliament Speaker M.Enkhbold received a courtesy call from Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico. Speaker Enkhbold noted that no top and high level visits has been hosted so far since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Mongolia is ready to host visits of the Chairman of the National Council and the Prime Minister of Slovakia, stated M.Enkhbold. Mongolia is working towards establishment bilateral agreements that will have a great effect in stimulating bilateral trade and economic cooperation, namely an agreement on promoting and protecting investments and an agreement on development of economic cooperation. Prime Minister Robert Fico promised to make a focus on finalizing these documents. The same day, Speaker Enkhbold had a meeting with Laotian Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith. M.Enkhbold said Mongolia and Laos have a wide potential for cooperating in the agricultural, industrial, mining and other fields, thereby Mongolia is interested in implementing certain initiatives in the agricultural sphere. The Laotian Prime Minister confirmed to encourage economic, trade, investment relations and that the two countries are possible to forward bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, in particularly, in animal husbandry. ** ** ** On July 15, Parliament Speaker M.Enkhbold met with Vice President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari. Speaker Enkhbold highlighted that Mongolia and India are developing bilateral relations and cooperation in compliance with the principles of strategic partnership. During a visit of Indian Prime Minister N.Modi to Mongolia in 2015, bilateral ties were elevated to a new level. In acknowledging the level of the bilateral ties has reached strategic partnership, Mr. Mohammad Hamid Ansari said he spoke about democratic achievements of Mongolia in his report delivered at the ASEM Summit. The main principle of democracy is a right to make decision. Our two countries are both democracies. Democracy plays an essential role in building people’s minds and attitudes. In view of this, parliament of the two countries need to foster bilateral links and increase the frequency of reciprocal visits. The Prime Minister N.Modi’s visit to Mongolia was a big event for both states. The main outcome of the visit is an agreement of providing USD 1 billion soft loan to Mongolia. Now, the sides need just embody it, the Indian Vice President stated.
