PARLIAMENT SPEAKER MEETS DELEGATES OF POLISH SEJM

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On May 21, Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament M.Enkhbold received delegates of Sejm (Lower House of Parliament) of Poland, led by Marek Rzasa, member of the Sejm and head of the Polish-Mongolian parliamentary group in the Polish Parliament. Speaker M.Enkhbold highlighted that the inter-parliamentary ties have been playing an important role in Mongolia-Poland cooperation with long-standing historical relations. It is significant to develop legal environment to enrich the ties with economic content and expand bilateral cooperation, noted Mr. Enkhbold. “With the loan of EUR50 million from Poland, which was resolved last year, important social projects and programs will be funded. Furthermore, it is also important to expand the successful cooperation development in the defense sector and conclude agreements for mutual information exchange in the near future,” he said. Moreover, the Speaker expressed a position on establishing agreements regarding employment and social protection of Mongolian expatriates in Poland. In addition, he emphasized an importance of paying an attention on increasing students to be involved in government scholarships based on the cooperation traditions and experience in educational sector, opening permanent Embassies in both countries and continuing the support for each other within the regional and international organizations. During the meeting, the Speaker reaffirmed invitations for heads of upper and lower houses of the Polish parliament to visit Mongolia. In turn, Mr. Marek Rzasa said, “During the visit, cooperation issues in economy, defense and educational sectors will be exchanged with Mongolian side. We are also planning to discuss several issues being proposed by our side.” M.Unurzul
