PARLIAMENTARY HEADS INFORM ABOUT THEIR MEETING

Ulaanbaatar /MONSTAME/ The Chairman of the State Great Khural (parliament) Z.Ekhbold and the Chair of the Federal Council of Russian Assembly Ms Valentina Matviyenko called Monday a press-conference on the results of their official negotiation that had run earlier that day. The dignitaries discussed measures to be taken for enhancing outcomes of political and intergovernmental agreements between Mongolia and Russia on economy, trade, culture, sciences, transit transport and border affairs. The sides agreed upon joint efforts in broader celebration of the 75th anniversary of the victory of the Khalkh River battle to be marked this August. With all these agreements, the negotiations of the parliament Chairs are regarded now as "of significance", noted Mr Enkhbold. He also recalled previous meetings between high dignitaries of the two countries including meetings of the Russian President Vladimir Putin with the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj during the ‘Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia’ Conference in Shanghai, and with the Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag during Saint Petersburg's International Economic Forum, and said the establishment of the Mongolia-Russia group in the Russian Federal Council has brought into a new level the inter-parliamentary collaboration. He noted that active cooperation and talks between the legislative bodies of Mongolia and Russia are of great importance in deepening the cooperation between the two countries. Ms Matviyenko thanked the Mongolia side for the friendly reception and noted a pleasure in the current high-level relationship between Mongolia and Russia. She said the key mission of her visit is to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations, which have increasingly significant functions in the collaboration of the two nations. She also noted a willingness of the Russian part, including President Putin, to boost the collaboration with Mongolia.
