Participants of 7th International Multiculturalism Summer School adopt address to President of Azerbaijan

Baku, August 14, AZERTAC Participants of the 7th International Multiculturalism Summer School, which was organized by Baku International Multiculturalism Center, have adopted an address to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The address says: “We gathered together in Azerbaijan from 30 countries to take part in the 7th International Multiculturalism Summer School on July 29 - August 9. Declaration by Your decrees of 2016 as “The Year of Multiculturalism” and 2017 as “The Year of Islamic Solidarity” in Azerbaijan clearly demonstrates that there is no place for discrimination among people of different racial, ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds in Azerbaijan. The year 2018 marks the 10th anniversary of the Baku Process, which is Your initiative and directed to promote intercultural dialogue in the world. The events we participated in, the people we met and places we visited during the Summer School deepened and strengthened our theoretical and practical knowledge about Azerbaijan as a country where people of all ethnicities and religious confessions live in peace and harmony. We, students from 30 foreign countries and Azerbaijan, are all members of the Club of Young Friends of Azerbaijan. We attended this school in order to share our opinions and perceptions of the Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism, the atmosphere of tolerance in this country and the successful state policy pursued in this regard. We would like to inform you that we are leaving Azerbaijan inspired and determined to continue our activities to disseminate around the world accurate information about Azerbaijan, including its multiculturalism policy, rich history and culture. We avail ourselves of this opportunity to assure you of our highest esteem.”
