Partnership and cooperation agreement signed between Mongolia and EU

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On April 30, the Foreign Minister L.Bold and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union /EU/ Ms Catherine Ashton ran official negotiations. The sides noted that the Mongolia-EU and Mongoia-EU members cooperation has been enriching, based on the mutual understanding and values of democracy. One of Mongolia's leading directions in the foreign policy and one of the long-term strategic goals is a strengthening of the relationship and cooperation with the EU and its member countries in all spheres, the sides noted and underlined that the current official visit of the high level delegation of the EU--Mongolia's Third neighbor--is confirming the close political ties and mutual confidence, is deepening the cooperation by keeping the dialogues and a continuity of the foreign policy of Mongolia, and is improving the outcome of the cooperation. After this the dignitaries signed the Partnership and cooperation agreement between the EU and Mongolia and a financial document on "Support to refining of Mongolia's standardization structure" agreement. By this, Mongolia's relations with the EU and its 27 member countries have reached the partnership level and many new possibilities have become available, besides, the Mongolian sides will work on introducing to its country the European standards, norms and regulations that lead in developing the world's economy and in technological progress.
