Peace In Syria Impossible Without Iran’s Support : Pakistani Analyst

Islamabad, Oct 16, IRNA -- A Pakistani analyst on Monday made it clear that peace cannot be resorted to Syria without the help of Islamic Republic of Iran. Talking to IRNA , Nazir Hussain, Associate Professor, Department of International Relations, Quaid-i-Azam University, however, said that European Union must stop providing weapons to rebels in Syria. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and UN and Arab League joint envoy on Syria Lakhdar Brahimi have said that there is necessity for establishing peace and tranquility in Syria on the basis of a national reconciliation. “Islamic Republic of Iran categorically believes that electing the leaders, freedom and justice are the right of nations and no one can tell the nations what to do in this regard,” President Ahmadinejad said. Nazir Hussain, expressing his views said that, ‘You have to involve internal dynamics to establish peace in Syria.’ “Iran is an important country of the region and can play a vital role in bringing national reconciliation in Syria,” the analyst viewed. The educationist expressing his opinion said that European Union and CIA must stop providing weapons to rebels in Syria. He said that foreign interference in Syria is complicating the issue. He strongly believed that West is following a dual standard policy on Syria. Nazir Hussain said that conflict in Syria means increasing the scope of insecurity in the entire region. The analyst said that Iran is a peace loving nation and wants to bring peace in the world without American influence. He said that visit of UN and Arab League joint envoy on Syria to Iran shows that international community stands with the Islamic Republic and seeks its support to restore peace to Syria. The intellectual said that unfortunately role of Saudi Arabia and Egypt has remained controversial but Iran has always been neutral on world issues. Nazir Hussain said that Iran’s point of view has acceptance in Syria. “Syrians trust Iran,” he noted. Nazir Husssain has Ph. D in Political Science and Masters in Defense and Strategic Studies.
