Perpetrators Behind 2010 Mahabad Bombing Arrested: Official

Tehran, May 18, IRNA – Iranˈs security forces busted a terrorist ring linked to Mahabad bombing which took place on September 18, 2010 in the Iranian western city of Mahabad, it was announced here on Sunday. The intelligence forces ambushed and arrested members of a terrorist team linked to the Komale terrorist group, a statement issued by the Intelligence Ministryˈs headquarters in West Azarbaijan province added. It noted that the arrested members of the team had confessed that they were organized by spy agencies of cross-regional countries. The Mahabad bombing occurred during a military parade held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of start of Iran-Iraq war. As a result of the bombing, 12 civilians were killed and at least 35 wounded./end
