PM attends COP21 meeting in Paris

BANGKOK, Nov 29 (TNA) - Thailand’s Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha arrived in Paris to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference or COP21 and the 11th session of the Meeting of the Parties (CMP 11) to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, said a deputy spokesman of the Prime Minister’s Office. The four-day conference aims to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate from every nation of the world. Gen. Prayut is scheduled to attend the meeting on Monday. The deputy spokesman said no concrete results have been achieved from the previous meeting and the Kyoto Protocol is presently insufficient. A new agreement is expected to be adopted this year at the Paris climate conference and implemented from 2020. (TNA)
