-PM Erdogan signs condolence notebook for Denktas

LEFKOSA (A.A) - January 17, 2012 - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday offered his condolences to the spouse of late Turkish Cypriot President Rauf Denktas, Aydin Denktas, in Lefkosa. Prime Minister Erdogan and his delegation have arrived in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Tuesday morning. They proceeded to the Turkish Cypriot Presidential Palace upon arrival in Lefkosa. At the Turkish Cypriot Presidential Palace, Erdogan signed the condolence notebook for Denktas. "The demise of Denktas is a great loss not only for the people of the TRNC but for Turkey as well," Erdogan wrote. "The struggle that was initiated by the late Denktas would be embraced by the citizens of the TRNC and Turkey and would continue," Erdogan wrote. "The Republic of Turkey will continue to support the rightful struggle of the Turkish Cypriots, defend the TRNC's laws with all its power and will continue to be the source of peace and freedom in the island," Erdogan also wrote.
