PM Medvedev to participate in meetings of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and Council of CIS Heads of Governments

MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is going to travel to Minsk, to participate on October 27-28 in the meetings of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the Council of CIS Heads of Governments. Heads of the governments of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will also attend the meeting of the Intergovernmental Council. Participants will consider a number of key issues of the integration agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union. During the meeting, the Heads of Governments intend to finalize the draft of the new Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union for its subsequent adoption by the Heads of States of the union members. The document will replace the Customs Code of the Customs Union adopted in 2009 and aims to create the necessary foundation for transition to a single customs regulation within the EAEU, a government official told TASS. The meeting participants will also consider a draft agreement on establishing a traceability mechanism for the movement of goods in the states - members of the Union. The document regulates various aspects of monitoring and controlling the goods that fall under special economic measures of which the member states, as well as goods, subject to reduced rates of import customs duties. Heads of Governments will focus on the development of trade and economic cooperation with third countries and integration associations, defining priority negotiations with key partners of the union. Participants will sign a number of decisions prepared by the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council that relate to the practical aspects of the Eurasian Economic Union and its agencies, in particular, the Union's budget for 2017. The meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Governments is planned for October 28. Teh participants will review the progress in implementing the Agreement on Free Trade Zone of October 18, 2011. The cooperation strategy for developing information society and concept of forming and expanding the intellectual property market are some of the topic to be discussed at the meeting. In addition, multilateral agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation in the mining industry, automotive industry, in the sphere of combating production and distribution of counterfeit goods are expected to be signed. < href="http://tass.com/politics/908457"Read more
