PM RECEIVES UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL OF UNITED NATIONS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg received Thursday the UN delegation led by the Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operation Mr Herve Ladsous. The latter said the United Nations highly appreciates Mongolian Armed forces’ participation and commitment in the international peacekeeping operations. Aside from the military persons’ involvements, Mongolia’s sending medical teams and police officers for the UN peacekeeping operations in Sudan and cooperation in all fields are deeply acknowledged by the international community. "I believe that such a cooperation will continue", he added. The Premier thanked the delegation for visiting Mongolia and said our country wants to continue contributing to the international peacekeeping actions. Thanks to promoting women’s participation in the peacekeeping, a number of servicewomen from Mongolia to the peacekeeping missions has reached 73, he said and underlined that it is vital to pay mutual attention to ensuring good health and security of the military persons involved in the peacekeeping.
