PM witnesses establishment of Pracharat Rak Samakkhi Company

BANGKOK, April 29 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha witnessed the establishment of Pracharat Rak Samakkhi Co Ltd at Government House on April 29 and urged all sectors to promote the concept of "Pracharat" or state-people partnership. Also present in the establishment ceremony were Interior Minister Anupong Paojinda, representatives of the private sector and relevant parties, and provincial governors. The company features collaboration of the public, private and civil sectors to run businesses in the way that will empower communities. Gen Prayut said that developed communities would then become the strong fundamentals of the nation. Its businesses will concern agriculture, processed farm products, tourism and services. The government and the private sectors will be responsible for produce accessibility, cultivation zoning, product sales at major hotels and supermarkets, package designs and business administration. Profitability is not the first priority of the company. The project will initially be implemented in Phuket, Phetchaburi, Udon Thani, Chiang Mai and Buri Ram provinces and expand to all provinces within this year. Gen Prayut said provincial governors were important mechanisms of the company and local residents must be informed that the government was neither monopolising the businesses nor favouring any particular parties and the new company would be run really for the public interest.
