Police ready for peacekeeping mission on Thailand's election day

BANGKOK, March 21 (TNA) - Thai Police forces nationwide have been prepared for their peackeeping and traffic facilitation mission on the country's new general day, set on March 24. Police Colonel Charungwit Pumma, Secretary-General of the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT), told journalists on March 20 that he believed the police forces on duty nationwide are now fully ready for their mission on the coming Sunday's general election day. The EC secretary-general said he would emphasize on the mission, covering their timely actions against suspicious untoward or fraudulent cases, during a seminar on the roles of police on Thailand's election days, held in Bangkok later in the day, in which over 300 heads of police peacekeeping adhoc centers from across the country would participate. Besides, he would tell the senior police officers to learn on some errors or oversights taking place on the advanced national poll day last Sunday, March 17, and to prevent any repetition of such the incidents. The EC secretary-general stated that no legal action will be taken against people who have criticized the ECT, but asking the critics to speak out or share only grounded and undistorted messages, especially those they post on their social media networks. According to the EC secretary-general, the ECT is conducting a thorough probe on all public complaints on suspicious or allegedly irregular cases concerning Thailand's new general election for its further action and decision.
