Polish FM calls for promotion of ties with Iran

Tehran, Nov 9, IRNA - Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in a message released on Sunday called for expansion of all-out relations with Iran. He made the remarks in a message to a seminar marking 540th anniversary of Iran-Poland diplomatic ties. Over 500 years of Iran-Poland amicable ties are good pillars for further boost of ties between the two nations, Sikorski added. He referred to the history of the two countries' friendly relations and praised Iranian nations' support for Polish refugees during the World War II. In the meantime, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a massage to the same seminar on Sunday lauded Iran-Poland historic relations. Iran and Poland are examples of two independent and peace seeking nations in the world history, Zarif added. Meanwhile, an exhibition on historical books and documents featuring bilateral ties since Safavid era was held on the sidelines of the seminar./end
