Political Developments Have No Impact On Tehran-Kiev Friendly Ties: Dy FM

Tehran, May 18, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi said on Sarurday that political developments will not influence Tehran-Kiev friendly ties. He made the remarks in a meeting with the Ukrainian outgoing ambassador in Tehran, Alexander Sergei Samarovsky. Appreciating services of the the envoy for his efforts to enhance level of ties during his mission in Iran, Sarmadi pointed out that the two countries relations have always experienced a growing trend. There are numerous potentials for boosting ties, especially in the fields of economy and trade, he said. The official hoped that the incoming ambassador will help all-out expansion of Tehran-Kiev ties. Referring to Iranˈs principled stance of respecting the countriesˈ territorial integrity and non-interference in other statesˈ affairs, Sarmadi hoped that the Ukrainians would overcome the current problems. Continuance of the crisis in the country damages the countryˈs national interests, he said. The Ukrainian envoy, for his part, presented a report on the status quo in Ukraine, hoping that bilateral ties would develop after the country leaves behind the crisis./end
