Premier Erdoğan meets Barzani

Turkish Premier Erdogan receives Massoud Barzani, the head of regional administration in the north of Iraq, in Istanbul ISTANBUL (AA) - November 5, 2011- Barzani said that they supported the opening and recovery policies of Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan. Following the meeting, Barzani said that he held meetings with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and other officials yesterday, and Premier Erdogan today, adding that all of the meetings were friendly and valuable. Regarding his meeting with Erdogan, Barzani said that they discussed the general condition of the region as well as the recent developments. We have similar views and thoughts. We shared the same views in economy issues. We support Erdogan's opening policy as well as recovery policy. Such a policy will make contributions both in Turkey and the region, said Barzani. Barzani said that they were against any act by PKK. He added that they were against any bloodshed too, noting that if there was any struggle, it should be made in parliament. This issue should be solved through peaceful means, said Barzani, adding that Erdogan's policy would contribute in the security of the region. Barzani expressed belief that destiny of Turks and Kurds was the same, and they should live together. He also celebrated Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) of Turkish people and Muslim world.
