Pres. Raisi terms Tehran-Ashgabat ties as expanding

Tehran, IRNA - Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a meeting with the chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on Wednesday said that Tehran and Ashgabat relations have been expanding in the recent years. President Raisi arrived in the Turkmen capital Ashgabat on Wednesday to attend the 6th Caspian Summit. He met and held talks with Berdimuhamedow. Referring to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two states, the President said that Tehran-Ashgabat's relations have always been expanding in recent years. Pointing to the high capacities existed between Iran and Turkmenistan, he noted that the 13th government in Iran has a particular plan for developing neighborly ties in the field of foreign policy, and the relations between Iran and Turkmenistan are expanding rapidly based on broad cooperation and mutual trust. Berdimuhamedow, for his part, thanked the Iranian government’s efforts over the past few months to strengthen and expand relations with Turkmenistan, stating that the two countries have many commonalities and capacities in the political, economic, commercial, and cultural arenas, which have provided a suitable ground for further enhancement and promotion of ties.
