President Ahmadinejad Backs Home From Saudi Arabia

Tehran, Aug 16, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Tehran Thursday from Mecca, Saudi Arabia,where he attended an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The President was welcomed at the airport by Supreme Leader's Advisor for Foreign Affairs Ali-Akbar Velayati. While in Mecca and on the sidelines of the OIC Summit, the President held separate meetings with his counterparts from Turkey, Sudan and Guinea Bissau to discuss major bilateral, regional and international issues. He also made a day-long pilgrimage visit to the holy city of Medina. The 57-member OIC, represents 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide./end
