President Ahmadinejad Receives Benin Highest Plaque

Cotonou, Benin, April 15, IRNA – Visiting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was awarded the highest plaque of Benin by his counterpart President Thomas Yayi Boni here late Sunday. The ceremony was attended by several foreign ambassadors residing in Benin, cabinet ministers and several high-ranking officials. President Boni said the plague was awarded to president of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) as a token of appreciation for his sincere efforts to establish peace and tranquility in Africa and his collaboration with NAM members countries. President Ahmadinejad, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Benin Sunday on the first leg of his three-nation African tour which will later take him to Niger and Ghana./end
