President Appoints Chief Of Presidential Staff

Jakarta, Dec 31 (Antara) - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo appointed Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan as chief of the presidential staff at the State Palace here on Wednesday. Luhut Panjaitan was named the chief of the presidential staff based on Presidential Decree No. 148/P of 2014 signed by the head of state on December 31, 2014. General (retired) Luhut B. Pandjaitan was born in Simargala, North Sumatra, on September 28, 1947. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1970. He was the Indonesian ambassador to Singapore and the trade and industry minister in the United Indonesia Cabinet for the 2000-2001 period.
