President Congratulates Malian President-elect On Election Win

Tehran, Aug 28, IRNA – Iranian President Hassan Rohani, in a congratulatory message to Malian president-elect Ibrahim Boubacar Keita on Tuesday called for expansion of bilateral relations in political, economic and cultural fields. The president hoped for restoration of peace and tranquility to Mali during Keitas term in office. Keita won Malis Aug 11 presidential runoff with 77.6 percent of the votes. The Republic of Mali is a landlocked country in West Africa. It is bordered by Algeria to the north, Niger to the east, Burkina Faso and Côte dIvoire to the south, Guinea to the south-west, and Senegal and Mauritania to the west.
