President Defends Nuclear Negotiating Team Against Critics

Tehran, July 2, IRNA - President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday defended its nuclear negotiating team against the so-called ˈWe Are Concernedˈ group who are critical of the administrationsˈ foreign policy. He made the remarks in a ceremony celebrating the Mining and Industry Day. Addressing the “We Are Concerned” group, he said ˈI assure those who are concerned that Foreign Ministryˈs nuclear negotiating team is enough experienced and capable of defending the nationˈs rights.ˈ President Rouhani underlined that the international sanctions regime has crumbled and will not be rebuilt even if Iran and G5+1 fail to reach a final nuclear deal by July 20 deadline. Sanctions have already eased and Tehran is committed to make a result out of its nuclear talks with the world powers, the President added. Critics of President Rouhaniˈs policies particularly its foreign policy have established a campaign known as “We Are concerned” and have asked him on different occasions to give up his moderate policies and adopt the past policies of hardliner President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Iranˈs foreign policy has taken new directions since Rouhani was elected President of the country in 2013. Nuclear talks between Iran and the G5+1 member have gained momentum./end
