President-elect: Gov't Aims Enhanced Ties With Other Countries

Tehran, July 3, IRNA – Iranˈs President-elect, Hassan Rohani, said on Tuesday that the government would develop relations with other countries. ˈThe government of the Islamic Republic of Iran would favor enhanced relations with other countries, including the regional and neighboring states,ˈ said Rohani in response to the congratulatory letters of Uzbek, Vietnamese and German presidents. In his letter to Uzbek President, Islam Karimov, Rohani said that expansion of relations between Iran and other countries would guarantee peace and stability, guaranteeing stable ties between the two countries. ˈUzbekistan has a special status for Iran.ˈ In his letter to Vietnamese President, Truong Tan Sang, Rohani wished prosperity and success for the Vietnamese government and nation. He hoped that the two countries would witness further expansion of relations in the future. In letter to German President Joachim Gauck, Rohani welcomed expansion of bilateral ties. Thanking Gauck for the congratulatory letter, Rohani said relations between Iran and Germany should be based on mutual respect and interests, aiming growth of relations on bilateral, regional and international levels./end
