President Felicitates OIC Chief On Eid ul-Fitr

Tehran, July 28, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani in a message on Monday, congratulated Organization of the Islamic Cooperationˈs Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul-Fitr. In his message, the President called for further promotion of unity and friendship among the Islamic Ummah. President Rouhani wished prosperity and progress for Muslim nations and governments and urged them to resort to valuable teachings of Islam and the tradition of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in order to get united. Eid ul-Fitr, also called Feast of Breaking the Fast, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide. The day celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan. During the day Muslims are not permitted to fast./end
