President: Friendship, Coordination Basis For Government, Majlis Co-op

Tehran, Jan 16, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed Wednesday that friendship and coordination were two major basis for cooperation between the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) and its government. Addressing Majlis morning open session, the President said both the cabinet and the parliament were currently endeavoring to sever the nation as best as they could and improve the country's situation. "Both the cabinet and the parliament are focusing on the policy of having a friendly cooperation to serve the nation and help advance the country," added President Ahmadinejad. He stressed that both the legislative and executive bodies enjoyed "a joint commitment which is working to safeguard the country's sacred values, serve people and promote principles such as justice, respecting national dignity and removing deprivations." President Ahmadinejad is in Majlis today to brief the representatives on the country’s major economic issues. Some 250 domestic and foreign reporters, photographers and camera persons are covering the event. Different world news agencies and news channels including the Associated Press, Al-Manar, Al Jazeera, China and German televisions are covering the event which is currently underway in the Iranian Parliament./end
