President Gul attends Kyrgyz Presidential handover ceremony

BISHKEK (A.A) - December 1, 2011 - Almazbek Atambaev became Kyrgyzstan's new President after an handover ceremony held in Bishkek and one that was also attended by Turkish President Abdullah Gul. Speaking at the ceremony, Atambaev said that "this new term will not be just one for the Kyrgyz Presidency but for the whole country". Referring to his country's foreign policy, Atambaev said that the Kyrgyz people will never forget the support and assistance extended from Turkey, other countries and international organizations. Roza Otunbaeva was Atambaev's predecessor.
