President Ilham Aliyev attends opening of new block of Azerbaijan National Art Museum

Baku, June 7 (AzerTAc). President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva have today attended the opening of a new block of the Azerbaijan National Art Museum. Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev told the President that construction of the block started in 2009. There is a collection of works by sculptors Omar Eldarov, Kamal Alakbarov and Jalal Garyagdi on the second floor of the building. An exhibition marking the 90th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev was arranged in the new block. President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva viewed paintings by Sattar Bahlulzade, Taghı Taghıyev, Nadir Abdurrahmanov, Khalida Safarova, Baba Aliyev, Toghrul Narimanbayov, Ogtay Sadıqzade and Tahir Salahov. The exhibition also features works by famous Western European and Russian artists.
